If you have been accused of academic misconduct you should have received a letter from your School it should state what the next stage of your response should be below are some examples.
a) Write a letter explaining what happen and whether or not your agree to the accusation
b) Be invited to attend a meeting (this is not the same as attending a hearing)
c) Be given a written or verbal warning
d) Attend a Viva

If the situation is not resolved at this stage then it may be referred onto the Academic misconduct panel to be dealt with (this will be the hearing).
At any of these stages the Union Support Service can help you write your letter or attend the meeting with you. You may be only given a limited time to respond to the School or Department so please contact us as soon as possible.
