This year, the Students' Union is recruiting a team of volunteer helpers - the i Help Team 2009 to help with Freshers' Fortnight which takes place from 20th September until 4th October 2009.
Freshers is one of the most memorable experiences of a student’s life at University and as a member of the i Help Team you can play a massive part of that experience. i Helpers will be on hand during Fresher’s Fortnight, but also during the academic year at relevant events such as Open Days.
The Students’ Union is looking for enthusiastic students who want to meet new people, can make people feel at ease and included, and also believe that Fresher’s Fortnight is about making friends and settling students in so they can make the most out of their University experience.
What is the role of an i-Helper?
To help, signpost, induct and represent students to the student experience. This includes:
- To assist and welcome all students moving into halls
- To encourage social activity and inclusion
- To promote City University London Students' Union and assist where required
- To provide a safe environment for all of the above.
i Helpers typical duties will include:
- Assisting new students moving into halls
- Having a campus presence
- Helping out with fairs and day time activities
- Door knocking to encourage social involvement
- Selling tickets and wristbands
- Promoting the Students’ Union
- And much more!!
Interviews
All team members will have to attend i Helpers training on Friday 11th September 2009 and may have to attend interviews.
