► Top Ten Freshers Tips
Freshers is the most hectic, exciting and adrenaline filled season in the academic year! So your Students' Union have provided you with top tips for surviving City University London Students' Unions' FRESHERS 2009! It's not gonna be big...It's gonna be massive!
1. Pace yourself: Freshers is for two weeks, heavy drinking and many late nights, may probably mean you will wil miss the host of events put on during the day, including the Freshers Fayre.
2. Buy tickets early: To avoid dissapointment, try getting all your tickets as early as possible. Freshers is the most popular student period for attending events during the year. So be smart, get your tickets early and don't miss out!
3. Meet New people: Freshers is the best opportunity to make new friends, so try not to be shy and introduce yourself to new people. The chances are, most new students will be as anxious to make friends as you are.
4. Safe Sex: If you intend to have sex, have safe sex. You can get information about this and related issues from the University's health centre. They also provide free condoms.
5. Attend Lectures:All lectures are important, even the ones at the beginning, try to get to your lectures on time even though there are so many events on during the Freshers period it may be distracting. Just remember your here to study also.
6. Learn your way around: Use Freshers and our team of iHelpers to learn where your lectures will be held, the different University sites as well as what is available to you in London & the local community.
7. Get Inolved & Give Us Your Feedback: For us to keep improving the Students' Union we need student activisits. Students who actively get involved and direct our student movement. through feedback. Student feedback is the root of all our campaigns!
8. Budgeting: Remember your loans are there to last you the entire term not just Freshers, so pace yourself, have fun, but try not to go over board!
9. Eating Out vs Eating in: Eating in is always the cheaper and healthier option. You can find tons of cooking reciepies and menus for you to try yourself online.
10. Try Everything: It's not Freshers everyday, so use this opportunity and try to experience as much as you can!
