It is an exciting time to get involved with student media at City. Last year student journalists and film-makers joined forces to create City Media.

The student newspaper, City Offline, underwent a dramatic transformation in autumn 2009 and has gone from strength to strength since. The new-look City Offline features more pages, and became independent from the Students' Union and University in terms of its reportage.

This year, City Offline's younger sister, City Online, and the brand new student podcast, CityOnAir, have become the latest members of the City Media family. City Online is the website to accompany the newspaper, and will provide students with more up-to-date news about the goings on around campus - and of course, it's written and run by students too!

City Online will also act as a hub for Student Media here at City, where all media work - from articles to video to podcasts - can be showcased.

CityOnAir is a weekly news and debate show, focusing on the issues that City students want to know about.

Needless to say, being part of the Student Media set-up here at City is a great way too boost your employability and let your creative juices flow, but that's not all you can get out of it. We love the opportunity to acknowledge and reward the achievements of our students, and for the Union's Media Team there is no exception. At the end of each year the union will host a reward ceremony for all the outstanding achievements. Individually and team based work will be recognised at the Student Activities Awards Ceremony.

If you think you'd like to get involved with City Media, then please take a look at the links on the left for more information on the various teams and activities.
