City Offline is the flagship project of City Media. It is a free monthly newspaper (during term time) aimed at all students at all campuses at City University. It is available in a number of places around the main campus on Northampton Square, and also has a stand in many other City University campuses. If you can't find a City Offline stand in your school, building or campus, and would like us to provide one, please get in touch at cityoffline@city.ac.uk
City Offline was first published in 2008, as a predecessor to Massive, the previous Students' Union magazine.
After an infancy year in which it focused mainly on Students' Union promotional material and light features from the students, it underwent a makeover in late 2009. As well as a new look, City Offline had taken a more news-based format, aimed at reporting "what the students on campus will be talking about".
The paper's acclaim from students, staff and the university's own journalism department grew with each issue. In 2010, the paper was entered into the Guardian Student Media awards (of which the results will be announced in the coming months).
A number of its members also received awards at the Students' Union annual awards dinner, with the editor picking up the top award for media.
This year, the paper is set to continue on its path of improvement under the wing of a new editor and team.
