President
Their overall duties include:

Overall leadership, representation and strategy
-
Co-ordinate and support the work of the Officer team.

Oversee the representation of student views and interests to the University, locally and nationally by acting as the public face of the Union.

Oversee the Union’s relations with the media.

Promote the democratic structure of the Union including instruments such as referenda.

Take lead responsibility for Union governance including committees such as Executive Committee and Union Council and sub committees as required.

Consult with students to inform future strategy and to be a primary point of communication with the membership.

Be the lead officer on all financial matters.

Help ensure that the Union runs challenging campaigns on student issues and contribute to their organization.

Attend appropriate University meetings such as University Council and Senate and ensure that high level independent leadership and negotiation takes place.

Liaise regularly with University staff at all levels, other Union Officers at City and nationally, NUS Officers and students.
-
Manage relationships with stakeholders and oversee the Union’s relations with the local community.

Be in charge of any Union disciplinary matters.
