Everything you need to know about our move
Where are you now?
Our staff offices are located in A229. That’s on the second floor of College building, Northampton Square. We’ve got some helpful signs along the way to help guide you in. Our shop is still on Level 1, Tait building.
Why have you moved?
Our permanent home in Tait building isn’t finished yet, and the University needs to start renovating the ground floor of Drysdale building, so we’ve been housed in College building until our new place to stay is ready. We’ll be moving in June to our new space. It’ll have new student media spaces, and will be located right next to our shop.
A little timeline:
2015 – we moved out of our old space next to the main entrance, and the University started refurbishing the entire main entrance area. We settled on the ground floor of Drysdale.
March 2017 – Our brand new shop opened on Level 1, Tait building.
April 2017 – We moved from Drysdale, to our current location in A229, College building.
June 2017 – We’ll move to our permanent purpose built space next to our shop on Level 1, Tait Building.
I need to see someone, what do I do?
Let us know before you say hello! We want to be here when you need us, and as we’re a small team, you might find yourself popping in to find the staff member you need is away from their desk. Your best bet is to let us know you’re coming, so we can make sure we’re here to help. Get in touch via email at email@example.com, a phone call on 0207 040 5600, or social media @cityunisu. It’s easier than walking up those flights of stairs (trust us, we know!).
I’ve ordered an NUS card, where do I pick it up?
Until our permanent home opens, you’ll now be able to collect all NUS cards at our shop. We won’t have any at our staff offices, so there’s no need to head up.
Is your shop moving?
No, it’s staying put! Our harbor of continuity in a sea of ever changing times. Our shop is, and will be on Level 1, Tait building. Our poetic writing as always is complimentary.
Why is your mascot a carrot?
It’s a long (but good story). Pop in and we’ll tell you all about it over a cup of tea.
