The Canadian American Law Society (CALS) is led by second-year GE LLB students to support first-year law students.
We are committed to helping students academically to ensure a successful first year, and we can also provide resources and advice about the challenging process of gaining work experience in London.
We believe that the bonds you make in Law School are an important aspect of your studies. We aim to create a tight-knit community and encourage networking. For this reason, we hold several social events throughout the year.
If you want an opportunity to be paired with an academic mentor, find out about your options after graduation, gain a supportive cohort of like-minded students, or just meet new people, this is the society for you!
CALS' mission is to
1) Represent the Members of the association;
2) Provide academic services for the students of the association; and
3) Organise social events and create a spirit of community in the association.
CALS runs workshops on Contract Law, Criminal Law, English Legal System, Public Law, and Tort Law.
CALS also runs a student mentoring program, where 1st-year CALS' members are paired with 2nd-year CALS' members.
