Nomination Papers

Nominations can be submitted electronically via the website www.culsu.co.uk/elections or papers can be obtained in hard-copy from the Students’ Union Reception, Level 1 Tait Building, City, University of London Students’ Union, Northampton Square, London EC1V 0HB

Office Hours: 10am to 5:30pm Monday – Friday

Eligibility

All students pursuing a programme of study as defined by the University Senate and with a current enrolment record may stand. A programme of study means full-time or part-time study at undergraduate or postgraduate level leading to a University award.

  • It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure their enrolment record is up to date before submitting their nomination form.
  • Students who have decided to opt out of Students’ Union membership are not eligible to stand in any Students’ Union election.
  • Occasional students as defined by Senate or those who are at validated, partnership institutions are not entitled to stand.
  • The following constituency based limitations apply
    • All eligible students may stand for the positions of Ethics & Environment Officer.
    • Students may only stand for the Student Councillor posts for the School in which they are registered. 
    • Only students who self-define as belonging to the groups represented by the individual Officers may stand for the following positions: Womens’ Officer, LGBT Officer; For example, only those who self-define as LGBT may stand for LGBT students’ Officer.

Deadline for Nominations

Nomination papers must be submitted online or returned by the candidate in person to the Reception, City Students’ Union, Northampton Square, London EC1V 0HB so that they are received no later than 1pm on Monday 23rd October 2017. Nominations submitted after this date and time will not be considered under any circumstances.

Candidates’ Meeting

All candidates are required to attend a meeting with the Deputy Returning Officer which will take place at 2pm-3pm on Monday 23rd October 2017. 

Candidates who are unable to attend must contact the Deputy Returning Officer by email suelections@city.ac.uk, before the meeting.
